Multifaceted artist Francis Ochoa's renaissance inspired impressions

Creative Francis Ochoa shares his art, and with it, his life

23 year old artist and writer Francis Ochoa (from California currently residing in Dallas, TX) shared with us his beautiful gift and a little insight on his inspirations and life in general.

'I Will Find You Darling and I Will Bring You Home'

Like many artists, Francis can't remember a time when art wasn't relevant in some way, “Art has always been a part of my life, being born to two artists who always dabbled in various forms of media, I was exposed to everything." he went on to explain, "However, while I was surrounded by all of it, it had always been an on and off type of thing in my life. It was something I picked up whenever I got inspired and dropped whenever I wasn't. Nevertheless, its always been there for me.”

'After the Waiting'

There’s no limit to where Francis finds inspiration, he told us, “I find it everywhere as I've always believed in the idea that we create in the way that we consume — that being said, the things I tend to find myself inspired by are works by the past masters like Henri Fantin-Latour, Monet, Van Gogh, Degas. Or films, I think there's a lot that we can take from films from then to now. In addition, music plays a big part as well and factors in the way that I am situated emotionally. Various forms of other art.”

“Above all, what drives me most is what I am feeling at the moment. I don't think there's a greater power for creation than whatever I am going through and the conviction it brings alongside it.”

Francis describes his style as, "renaissance and baroque-inspired with modern influences. But of course, I try not to limit myself and experiment with different styles and mediums once in a while. I work mostly with oil paint, acrylic and digital mediums. But I also work with watercolors and pencils from time to time.”

Not only is Francis an artist himself, but, “I am also the founder of The Naked Collective, an artist collective filled with various talented artists in differing media from photography to traditional and digital mediums.” We love what he's doing to help his fellow creatives, and are excited to see him continue to grow as an artist!
